Hi, I'm Leona Esmaeily-Aimua, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #142467) with a master's degree from California Baptist University. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, panic, trauma, depression, OCD, eating disorders, ADHD, and relationship challenges. Opening up about your struggles can feel overwhelming, especially if you come from a culture or family where emotions weren't openly discussed. My goal is to make therapy a safe and supportive space where you can finally speak freely, feel heard, and begin to heal.

A bit about me

As a Middle Eastern woman, I grew up in an environment where expressing emotions wasn't encouraged. Happiness was celebrated, but sadness, fear, or vulnerability were often kept inside. Over time, I realized how this silence can disconnect us from ourselves and the people we love.

Through my own experience with anxiety, therapy became my turning point, it taught me the power of understanding, feeling, and healing. That journey inspired me to become a therapist and to help others especially those raised in similar cultures learn that it's okay to open up and that strength can be found in vulnerability.

How I work

I blend Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to meet clients with empathy, understanding, and no judgment, while giving them practical tools to manage life's challenges. Together, we'll uncover the roots of your struggles and develop personalized strategies to help you live a calmer, more balanced life.

Areas of focus

What we can work on together

You don't need to know exactly what to call what you're experiencing before reaching out.

01

Anxiety, OCD & Panic

Anxiety and OCD can disrupt daily life and create cycles of overthinking or fear. I teach grounding and mindfulness techniques, as well as structured strategies to help manage intrusive thoughts and regain control.

02

Depression & Eating Disorders

Depression and disordered eating often mask deeper emotional pain. I provide support, coping tools, and guidance to help you reconnect with your body, mind, and sense of self-worth.

03

ADHD & Neurodiverse Challenges

ADHD can impact focus, organization, and emotional regulation. I help clients identify strategies to manage symptoms while embracing their unique strengths and potential.

04

Relationships & Attachment

Healthy relationships require ongoing care and communication. Using attachment theory, I help clients recognize their patterns secure, anxious, or avoidant, and develop tools to communicate effectively and build stronger connections.

05

Trauma Healing

Trauma shapes how we view ourselves and the world. I create a safe, supportive space to process painful experiences at your own pace, helping you reclaim empowerment, safety, and emotional freedom.

What you can expect

We'll start with 15 minutes together.

Therapy isn't just about coping, it's about rediscovering who you are beneath anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. My mission is to help you reconnect with yourself, build emotional resilience, and create a life filled with confidence, peace, and connection.
